YOUTH
HUBS
Safe, welcoming spaces at the Underground and Elthorne where young people meet friends, try new things, eat together and get support from experienced youth workers.

The heart of our youth work
Our hubs run six sessions a week in term time, plus a full holiday programme. They are free, open to young people aged 8 to 21, and a place to meet friends, try new activities, cook and eat together, express yourself and talk about the things that matter.
Beyond the weekly sessions, young people can join trips, creative and sporting activities, outdoor adventures, residentials and expeditions that build confidence and independence.
The Elthorne Youth Hub connects with young people across the north of the borough. Its members have taken real ownership of the space: decorating it, designing the programme, and painting a mural on the shutters with local artists.

Shaped by young people
Youth Ambassadors
Our Youth Ambassadors guide what we do, so young people have a real say in the programmes and activities they take part in.
Young Leaders
Young people aged 15 to 19 train as Young Leaders during normal hub sessions, then volunteer and mentor younger members, building life and work skills.
Cook and eat together
Sessions include freshly cooked food, and young people learn to cook. In the holidays every day comes with a free hot lunch.
Trips and residentials
From summer camp to climbing, paddleboarding and mountain biking, trips give young people new experiences and memories.

Prospex Film Festival
Our first film festival screened six films young people made during the year, from sci-fi and horror to the downright surreal, with a video introduction from Dame Emma Thompson.
DJ AG drops in
Rising music star DJ AG spent a day at the hub listening to tracks our young people had made, then shared the visit with his 1.9 million followers.
25 Years Pub Quiz
Ten teams went head to head and raised £2,000 for the hub. A team of our young people came a very close second.
Graffiti with Wumzum
Local graffiti artist Wumzum taught young people bubble writing and how to develop their own signature style, with a mural planned for Islington.
“I love Prospex because I get to try new things and meet new people. I’ve learned new games that I can play with my friends at school now.”
