The Property
Hot of the press is that we have just signed the lease of a property on the Caledonian Road and are now working towards renovating it. This is very exciting as it puts us right in the heart of the community where we are working and gives us a real space to work in and from. The property looks directly onto the Bemerton Estate one of our key areas of work. The real work starts now with turning the space into somewhere we can be proud of, to do that we need money, if you can help us with this then please give as generously as you can, details of how to do this can be found by clicking on the How to help button. The renovation will use local young people where ever possible so that there becomes an ownership from the word go. Dr Tanya Byron becomes a Prospex patronDr Tanya Byron BSc, MSc, PsychD, becomes a patron of Prospex, known for her TV work and as a NHS clinical psycologist. We are delighted at her taking on this role and look forward to her input and wisdom. Anyone coming to the ball will hear her speak, but if you are not we will report after the event.New Staff Maxine Johnson, previously a volunteer with us, has taken on the full time job as ‘Prospex Works’ key worker. This has been made possible through The Rank Foundation who are sponsoring this position for the next 5 years to which we are really grateful. Her role includes face to face work with young people giving them skills and encouragement to better themselves through programmes that offer opportunities for paid/unpaid work experiences and short term placements. Maxine has a fantastic knowledge of the local area having grown up here which is a real assest to the work she is doing.Moving on Sarah Pswarayi who has worked for us part time since 2004 is moving on to new things. We would like to thank Sarah for all she has contributed to Prospex and the young people we work with, she will be missed.

New Trustee Mike Hickes has become our latest trustee and joins us with a wealth of business experience. Mike has spent time helping us plan and stratergize the way Prospex can move forward which has been invaluable. We are pleased to welcome him onto the trustees and look forward to seeing his passion and drive used in this area.
