The Lexis Project, our literacy and numeracy programme, is growing steadily and those taking part are making good progress. We have formed a good partnership with the mobile Library that meets in Jean Stokes Community Centre each week and we are encouraging the young people to register with them and make use of what they offer. This is far less daunting than the main library and the staff are very friendly. They have also offered to leave us a box of appropriate books that we can use during our sessions to supplement the resources we already have.
Boston Club:
This now sees an average of 35 young people attending every week and has grown in popularity since United House gave us £1000 for new equipment. We have also extended the time from an 8.30pm end to 9.00pm as behaviour has improved so much.
We would like to thank Liz Vos from United House for all her help and support over the last few months, their very generous financial contribution has allowed for the very tired equipment to be updated. We are now the proud owners of the following: two table tennis tables, a pool table, air hockey table and a fantastic Nintendo Wii console. Prospex and the young people are extremely grateful.
