Prospex Works

Prospex Works aims to support and encourage Young People who are not in any form of education or employment, to gain the confidence to better themselves by developing the necessary skills and experience to find the direction and career they want to follow.

The majority of the young people we work with have few or no qualifications so this is a vital stage in giving them a true taste of work and showing them that they have something to offer.

There are three streams to this project; the Placement Scheme, Prospex Works Lifeskills and Job Club.

Thanks to our growing team of volunteers we are pleased to announce that Job Club has been re-launched after a very long break.

This currently takes place on a Wednesday 12 -3pm and gives young people the chance to come and complete a CV, job search and get advice.

They can also come and practise for the CSCS test, a requirement for working in the construction industry. Our thanks to Olivia who is doing a fantastic job; we are hoping to add another volunteer to help her in the very near future, so watch this space.

We have also helped a young person set himself up as a self-employed painter and decorator and found him his first job. If you know anyone that needs some decorating done let us know and we will put you in touch. He is gaining a good reputation and has trained at college in the trade.
