Recently commissioned by Islington Council for three years our Street Team work remains at the heart of what we do at Prospex.
Our Street Teams actively go out and engage with young people who are hanging about on the streets, estates and parks. They build up a relationship of trust with these young people this then enables them to gain the information they need, access positive activities, employment opportunities or help back into education either through another Prospex service or by referring to another provider.
The Street Team members are easily identified by wearing clothing clearly displaying the Prospex logo.
Find out more about Prospex Street TeamDetached has been busy this last month with increased numbers of 13-14 year olds on the Cally. This means we need to spend even more time building relationships with this new group. They seem to be travelling from outside the local area making use of their free bus travel; the connection is believed to be school friends.
It is not unusual now for us to see 80 plus on any given night. We are starting to get to know some of them quite well and some are attending the Thursday night Boston Club and wanting to get involved with the short term projects we run for under 16s.
No detached sessions had to be cancelled due to staffing in February.
